Description
Tecoma is a genus of flowering plants in the family Bignoniaceae. They are native to the Americas and are known for their trumpet-shaped flowers and pinnate leaves. Some species of Tecoma have yellow flowers, including Tecoma stans, which is commonly known as the yellow trumpetbush or the yellow bells.
This species has yellow or orange flowers and is popular as an ornamental plant. Tecoma plants are easy to care for and require well-draining soil and full sun to partial shade. They also require regular watering during the growing season and should be fertilized regularly to encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
The flowers are bright yellow in color, 2 inches long with trumpet shape and hang in showy clusters at the branch tips and forks, bending the twigs into arches with their weight, hence the name Yellow Bells. It has a very long flowering season.
